During the past couple of
months students in the fifth/sixth grades have participated in a cooperative unit on
bridges. We learned about the various
bridge types, explored building bridges out of paper, and finally constructed
wooden truss bridges. During the final
bridge construction, each team was given a budget to work with, had to create a
blueprint of their bridge design, and then construct the bridge. Late in January, students were able to test
their bridges. Below are a few photos from our day of testing.
