Watercolors and Poems
By Jaden

Our class has been doing lots of watercolors and poems, it started with a cloud watercolor and acrostic poem. Next, we did one about rain but instead of a acrostic poem we did a haiku. Then we did a watercolor and acrostic poem of a Williwaw. Finally, we started a watercolor and acrostic poem about snow.
In preparation for the cloud poem and watercolor, we observed clouds in nature journaling and in everyday life, until we made our poems and watercolors. Next, for the rain watercolor and haiku we just made it (but it did rain). The Williwaw watercolor and poem we were already reading a book called Williwaw! so we knew what williwaw meant (it means a sudden violent squall blowing offshore from a mountainous coast) so it was easy to make. Now the snow one, we read a book called The First Snow and and it was a first snow, but we are not done on that one yet. We will probably do another one soon.

Winter Weeds Nature Journaling

This past week our class went outside to spend time appreciating the beauty of winter weeds.  Below are some samples from nature journals:

Poem about the weather
Faded colors
All around me
Lying on the ground, are
Leaves, brown as can be.

Never ending,
Amazing things,
Treasure right above you,
Under you,
Red, brown, black, yellow
Endless nature.

In the big gray sky
Clouds are covering up the
Sun and its beauty
