Last week
our class completed a teambuilding activity called “Paper Tear.” Students worked in groups of four to
accomplish this task. First, each
student was given a colored sheet of paper and instructed to tear their sheet
into pieces (without an explanation of why).
The groups were then given a large sheet of white paper and glue. They were then instructed to work together to
create a picture (not a design) out of the torn pieces of paper. Below are the end results with a brief write
up from each group.
Group # 1
It is an
active bonfire with grass and it is in the morning. You can tell it is a fire because we wrote “FIRE”
on it. This project was challenging because
you could not tear the paper after finding out what the task was. It was also challenging because we only had
four colors to work with. Our favorite
part was when we saw it coming together.
Group # 2
Our picture
is of a pancake, raspberries and chocolate whipped cream. We chose pancakes because our whole group
loves pancakes! We did a giant “P” for
pancakes so you could tell what the picture was supposed to be. This activity was fun and challenging because
we couldn’t find the right pieces for the plate. It was fun and silly because we kept
laughing.
Group #3
Stormy
Trees
This project
is an island that has a storm going by and the sun is peeking out. This project was hard because we had to
decide together. We decided to add a
tree because islands have trees. We
wanted to work together as a team. Our
favorite part was ripping the paper.
Group # 4
Our favorite
part about this project was ripping the paper into little pieces. We found a brown piece that was not ripped
all the way so we decided to make a person because it looked like pants. Then Bella found 3 balloon shaped pieces and
a long string like piece. Once we found
his body, it was starting to look like a person. When we got to the head it got a little
difficult because we couldn’t find two eyes.
We made our person a cyclops holding balloons.
